Bees are an extremely important part of Hi-Berry Farm. They not only buzz around pollinating all the beautiful fruit and vegetables helping to ensure a bountiful harvest, they also produce sweet honey for us all to enjoy!
When I think of fall flavours I think of pumpkin and squash and, of course, the sweet potato. The colourful and earthy sweet potato is such a great addition in many fall dishes.
Boiled, grilled, or roasted, smeared with butter, sprinkled with salt, or sweetly simple, nothing beats the appeal of biting into a crunchy sweet cob of corn.
Now I know why my cooking never quite matched mom's, I was missing garlic; the magic ingredient.
From early May when we see the first purplish-green spears break dormancy, until the first of July when harvest ends, asparagus reigns.
Hi-Berry Farm is a fruit and vegetable market located between Port Elgin and Southampton in beautiful Saugeen Shores, Ontario.
At Hi-Berry Farm, we only sell what we grow. We plant and harvest all of our more than 40 different crops on our 300 acre farm. This is how we ensure that all of our produce is the best quality.
